502 Lunch Week Announced
As a follow-up to a successful 502 Restaurant Week which was held last February, 502 Events announces the launching of 502 Lunch Week which will take place in Louisville during September 9-20, 2013.
502 Lunch Week highlights popular restaurants and offers diners a great value for lunch at just $10 or $15 per person, depending on the menu, for a 2-course meal which includes a beverage. Price does not include gratuity or tax.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Louisville’s Dare to Care Food Bank.
The purpose of the event is to promote the incredible restaurant industry that Louisville has become so famous for and to give diners a reason to dine out during lunch and try new restaurants. There are no coupons or tickets to be purchased or downloaded. Diners simply dine at their favorite restaurants and pay the fixed price for a special menu at the restaurant.
Organizers of the event, 502 Events LLC, have set a goal of 30 participating restaurants which is comparable to other restaurant/lunch weeks around the country. More restaurants are signing on for the event every day, but so far, confirmed participating restaurants include:
“We were overwhelmed by the response that diners and restaurants had during the success of 502 Restaurant Week. We know that these events are well received in the community and the restaurants appreciate the effort we put into it to promote their establishments,” said Belinda Gates, Owner of 502 Events.
“Most cities combine lunch week with their restaurant weeks,” continues Gates, “but we wanted to separate the dinner and lunch events into two different times of the year to give diners more opportunity to dine out. Also, 502 Lunch Week highlights restaurants who want to attract a lunch crowd and have a more casual dining experience.”
502 Events will organize, promote and manage 502 Lunch Week, which is planned to be an annual event. 502 Events has also created a mobile app that will include restaurant listings, menus and more, that is free and available for download for Apple and Google devices. The event will be publicized on local radio, television and magazines, as well as have a strong mobile and digital media presence.
502 Lunch Week is endorsed by the Kentucky Restaurant Association and the Presenting Sponsor is Sysco. The Louisville Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is also a sponsor of the event and more sponsors continue to sign on as the event draws near. Partnerships have also been formed with New2Lou, Open Table and Yelp.
